The aim of this project is to facilitate seamless connectivity with a massive number of devices and provision QoS in communication over IoT.
This is planned to achieve through the design of an efficient MAC protocol and provide QoS guarantees to the applications envisaged to be running over IoT through the design of suitable QoS schemes.
The Digital India vision of Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY) has released nation's first
Internet of Things (IoT) policy document in 2015. IoT is relatively a new paradigm and has numerous research challenges. Although many research works on IoT are taken up, but still many issues and challenges are remaining unaddressed.
To fulfill IoT mission, those research challenges are required to be taken up. Designing MAC protocol to provide seamless communication is a broad but critical research area in IoT. Quality in information is another key success factor of IoT.
Given the heterogeneous types of networks and devices involved in IoT, meeting end-to-end QoS requirements of various IoT applications demands to design of a proper QoS scheme.
